Stoke Newington Rail Crossing

Removal of failed coal tar coating and application of protective coatings to an 18 inch medium pressure gas main over a live railway. Works included scaffold erection, earthing and bonding during a 48-hour possession, followed by blasting and painting while rail services operated below.

Specialist works delivered in a live infrastructure setting

Working with both Cadent Gas and Network Rail to remove the failed coal tar coating from an 18” Medium Pressure gas main that is located over a live railway. The scaffold was erected, earthed and bonded during a 48hr weekend possession before the OLE’s became live again and the railway reopened. We were able to carry out our blasting and painting works while trains were running below. Once the works were completed, the scaffold was removed during another weekend possession.
