LNG Tank Roof Painting

Protective coating programme to LNG tank crowns T301, T302, T303 and T304, delivered over four summer phases. Existing coatings were removed using 36,000 psi UHP water jetting before a GIS/PA10 protective coating system was applied to meet C5M exposure requirements.

Specialist works delivered in a live infrastructure setting

WG Beaumont carried out protective coating works to the crowns of LNG tanks T301, T302, T303 and T304 for National Grid Grain LNG. The works were specified to meet the requirements of Exposure Category C5M under ISO 12944-2, providing a robust coating system for a demanding marine and industrial environment. The client made one tank available each year during the summer months, allowing the programme to be completed over a four-year period. Existing coatings were removed using WG Beaumont’s own UHP water jetting units operating at 36,000 psi, before the new protective coating system was applied to GIS/PA10 specification.
