Norn Hill Rail Crossings Access Deterrent Measure Installation

Installation of access deterrent measures to 12 inch low pressure and 24 inch medium pressure gas mains spanning over a live railway. Works were completed during a 12-hour weekend road closure using negative reach MEWPs, with the possession handed back ahead of schedule.

Specialist works delivered in a live infrastructure setting

Located either side of two road / rail bridges was a 12” LP and a 24” MP, both approx. 100m in length spanning over a live railway. The scope here was to install Access Deterrent Measures to the mains. Due to the location of the crossings and the possession window that was made available to us, we carried out the works by closing the road for 12 hours over a weekend and accessing the pipes using negative reach truck mounted MEWPs. All ADM’s were installed and NR’s possession handed back well before the deadline, then site cleared and bridges re opened to the public ahead of schedule.
